With a heavy heart, we address you today regarding the ending of a chapter in our journey. This has been in planning for some time, so while the news is unexpected, the decision is not. We really didn't want any fuss in the days building up to today.
With appreciation and hope, we officially announce the discontinuance of the Pocketbook platform. We'd like to convey our gratitude, discuss the changing landscape, and reflect on the lessons learnt.
Gratitude for community and support:
The Pocketbook journey has been nothing short of extraordinary, owing entirely to the constant support of our beloved micro SME community. We sincerely appreciate you for putting your trust in us and allowing us to be a part of your small business. Our appreciation also goes to the outstanding bazaar organisers, MDEC and MaGIC, who stood by us with steadfast support. Your help has left an unforgettable imprint on our journey.
Navigating change in a post-pandemic era:
The post-pandemic landscape has seen tectonic transformations, which have changed the dynamics of the local economy. While the mission of our platform remained constant, the SME ecosystem around us changed. The Pocketbook is a software-as-a-service that we have been providing for free for the past 8 years. We genuinely do not make a profit and have kept the bank charges the same as they are, with no additional subscription service fees, etc. Unfortunately, we can no longer provide efficient system maintenance and have decided to discontinue the service in Q4 2023.
It's a difficult but necessary decision as we shift our team's commitment to focusing on growing our new ventures.
Finally, we want to express our heartfelt appreciation for your support, understanding, and love. We've created a tapestry of experiences and recollections that will live on in our hearts forever.
